Authorship Criteria

PRISMA applies authorship principles that uphold academic integrity, transparency, and scientific responsibility.

A person may be listed as an author only if all of the following criteria are met:

  1. Makes a substantial contribution to the conception of the research, research design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of results.
  2. Contributes to drafting the manuscript or critically revising its scientific content.
  3. Approves the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.
  4. Agrees to be accountable for the integrity of their contribution and to help resolve questions concerning the accuracy or reliability of the research.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors meet the authorship criteria, agree on the order of authors, and are aware of and approve the manuscript submission.

PRISMA prohibits ghost authorship, gift authorship, and guest authorship. Individuals who provide administrative, technical, or funding assistance without the intellectual contribution required for authorship may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section.

Any change of name, addition or removal of an author, or change in the order of authors after submission must be accompanied by a written explanation and the approval of all authors concerned.

Authors are encouraged to describe their contributions using the CRediT taxonomy. The use of artificial intelligence technology does not qualify a person or system for authorship status.
